A Kiwi Story

Lyrics:

They say your dreams are just too big

they say it’s impossible too

but that won’t stop you anyway

nothing's gettin in your way

they tell you, "Hey don’t even try"

you'll hurt yourself, you might even die

but that won’t stop you anyway

nothing's gettin in your way

so you get your hammer and nails and you pound away

you face the sky and dream you'll be there someday

you'll scale that cliff and you don't care if you pretend

just wanna live out your dream in the end

up in the clouds by the beaming sun

you're staring down, can't see the bottom

but that won’t stop you anyway

nothing's gettin in your way

you click your heels, and you sing your song

excited that you'll prove them wrong

just a kiwi wanting to fly

gettin his chance to touch the sky

get a running start, leap your destiny

what you see and feel is real, not make-believe

tears in your eyes, let the wind wipe them away

just you and your wings till the end sets you free

fly away to your eternity

Sonnets To My Mother Gửi mẹ

Sonnets To My Mother

Gửi mẹ

by Heinrich Heine

Heinrich Heine

I

I have been wont to bear my forehead high--

My stubborn temper yields with no good grace.

The king himself might look me in the face,

And yet I would not downward cast mine eye.

I

But I confess, dear mother, openly,

However proud my haughty spirit swell,

When I within thy blessed presence dwell,

Oft am I smit with shy humility.

Nhưng mẹ ơi-con xin thú thật

Trái tim con dù kiêu hãnh thế nào

Đứng trước mẹ dịu dàng chân chất

Con thấy mình bé nhỏ làm sao

Is it thy soul, with secret influence,

Thy lofty soul piercing all shows of sense,

Which soareth, heaven-born, to heaven again?

Or springs it from sad memories that tell

How many a time I caused thy dear heart pain,

Thy gentle heart, that loveth me so well!

Có phải tinh thần mẹ diệu kỳ soi thấu

Như bay lên vừng ánh sáng cao siêu

Hay bao nỗi buồn xưa nung nấu

Trái tim mẹ hiền đùm bọc đứa con yêu.

II.

In fond delusion once I left thy side;

Unto the wide world's end I fain would fare,

To see if I might find Love anywhere,

And lovingly embrace Love as a bride.

II

Love sought I in all paths, at every gate;

Oft and again outstretching suppliant palms,

I begged in vain of Love the slightest alms,

But the world laughed and offered me cold hate.

Forever I aspired towards Love, forever

Towards Love, and ne'ertheless I found Love never,

And sick at heart, homeward my steps did move.

And lo! thou comest forth to welcome me;

And that which in thy swimming eyes I see,

That is the precious, the long-looked-for Love.

Maman

by Romeo

Mẹ Hiền Yêu Dấu

Romeo

Maman oh Maman quand tu me souris

Friendship Poems

Vần thơ tình bạn

Friendship isn't always easily described. The Eskimos, they say, have a hundred different words for snow. Unfortunately, the English language isn't quite as innovative, though it has vast opportunities to differentiate meaning. Certainly, Love is one of those opportunities. And so, too, is Friendship. Instead of different words, however, we're stuck with simple adjectives. Close friend. Best friend. Childhood friend. Intimate friend. Trusted friend. Beloved friend. But whether you use adjectives or different words, few could deny the nearly infinite meaning in such a simple word. Friends are special people. We can't pick our family, and we're sorely limited in the number of them at any rate. Society and mores (and often our own conscience) dictate we select a single mate. But our friends can be as diverse and infinite as the adjectives we choose. Our friends, in a very real sense, reflect the choices we make in life.

Dance Upon The Wind

by Intimate Knight

I wasn't looking for it, but some how it came, and found me.

Before I had a chance to react, it wrapped it's warmth around me.

Like a thief in the night, it has come and gone.

I have nothing, but that vision to reflect upon.

Until chance comes again, I'll let my thoughts dance upon the wind.

All day long, in my mind, I walk love's lonely street.

Like a tired man that longs to sit, but just can't find a seat.

Then, there it was again, up ahead, to light my way.

Only to vanish once more, just like all my yesterdays.

Until chance comes again, I'll let my thoughts dance upon the wind.

I don't know where I'm going, and where I've been isn't much to speak of.

I just know my heart is always showing, leading me to some far off love.

Just when I give up the fight.

Here it comes to make the bad things good, and the wrong things right.

Only to leave me lost and lonely again.

Drifting away as my thoughts dance upon the wind.

It has a name, I think they call it friend.

Between The Miles

by Heather Stoop

Because existence can become severe

in one day,

just sense me and I'll be there.

In the minds eye,

I'm not so far away.

If you hold out your hand,

in the whispers,

I'll become the zephyr.

and besiege you.

If your eye's upon the stars,

in the crystalline darkness,

I'll become the moon.

And the light shall guide you.

If you rest upon the ground,

in the warmth,

I'll become the grass.

And embrace you.

If you turn outside,

in the wetness,

I'll become the rain.

An upon your forehead, kiss you.

If you free the air,

in the light of day,

I'll become the sun.

And smile for you.

Between the miles-

if you need me.

If you need a friend.

Let me be the friend, I want to be.

Follow Me

by Michelle Newton

Take my hand and follow me

to that place I long to be.

Take my hand and trust my way,

in that place forever stay.

Follow me toward the sand;

we'll run and play, hand in hand.

Take my heart and hold it true;

forever I'll stay close to you.

Seize my words and listen well,

then forever I will tell.

Release your heart and feelings too,

just as I will do for you.

Trust your heart and follow me,

to that place we long to be.

The Way It Should Be

by Vergil F.e. Tudtud

Solitude have I to endure,

seemingly held with disclosure.

A fellow left astray,

as yet from yesterday.

Flashing your dainty, disarming smile,

warms my heart every once in a while.

Our longtime kinship

will always bloom with friendship.

It has never been so profound,

a lifetime friend have I found.

Let our friendship be a bond,

which can never be like a dry pond.

Let us not forget the dreams we share,

forever like sisters or brothers we care.

You'll always be a friend to me,

and that's the way it should be.

On The Wings of A Butterfly

by Corky Ferguson

Your friendship is special

Like the flowers that bloom,

Or when a butterfly emerges

From within its cocoon...

You remind me of that butterfly,

Loving and free,

Bright and colorful,

For the world to see...

We will share sunshine and rainbows;

Sometimes, the rain and the snow;

We'll stand together through it,

While the cold winds blow...

When the time is right,

We won't stop to ask "Why?"

Our friendship will take flight

On the wings of a butterfly ...

For My Bestest Friend

by Tanyo

Friendship is something to hold on to

But for me that's not the case

Cause I don't feel I need to keep

Something that can't be erased

I am sure of what I have

Cause with you I have no doubt

For what we've built, can't ever fail

It's what I care about

I find it hard to describe

This thing that we share

Especially when there's nothing else

That ever could compare

Others always know

That together we will be

For there can never be another

"Tani and Kerrie"

Those two words, known all over

Might as well be one

Cause without a Kerrie, there is no Tani

I'm sorry, it just can't be done

For you're the "U", and I'm the "S"

And forever that will be

Cause together we make "US", and so

YOU COMPLETE ME!!!

Serenity

by Dena Martin

As I look

Beyond the ripples of my reflections

To examine my inner self;

The ripples begin to fade . . .

As the reflection lays beside me

Grasping my hand,

The inner warmth shields me

And the vision of my reflection appears

I see you. My Friend.

Up In The Sky Up In The Sky by Amanda Jenkins

When you are down

And you want to get high,

Just take a good look

Up in the sky.

What you will see

Are the stars above,

And all you need

Is to proclaim your love.

Who you will find

And see so clear,

Are friends in mind

You want to hold near.

Whenever you need them

Just look up high,

Call their name

And see them fly.

Every friend you meet

Owns a star

And you can see them

No matter how far.

Whenever you are down

And want to get high,

Just take a good look

Up in the sky.

What Comes Of Tomorrow

by Christine

Joy is what fills the heart of they

which hold within the mysteries of a friend

A passion unknown unto words

Within them fall the tears of all things they endure as one

And from their eyes diamonds fall,

So precious every one

Dear within, the memories they caress with sorrow

And gather them today, for what may come of tomorrow

Priceless

Priceless ever are these moments that we spend with those so dear

Comforting now to know that they are near

Yet there comes a day when they see the eagle soar

And feel within their hearts

A passion so much more

As we stand beside them when that gleam glows in their eyes

What comes of tomorrow

My friend's lost paradise

And though a distant barrier wells up within the heart

There is a joy inside

To know the joy of a dawning start

Standing there beside them on that road to paradise

We say farewell and weep

Knowing they must also compromise

And so we hold them close and whisper in their ear

Please take with you these memories.

Then from the eyes,

Your tear.

Moment in Time

by Cynthia Kepp

We talked,

We walked,

for a Moment in Time.

You passed through my life that day and left your mark.

You may never pass my way again,

Or you may stay for a lifetime.

No matter what,

I want to say thank you for the impression you made

that will stay with me for eternity.

I enjoyed the walk,

I enjoyed the talk.

I am blessed for that moment in time.

The first time I saw you I knew you would affect my life,

though your role I did not know.

I asked myself, "Why is he alone?

Why does he sit so quiet, all alone?

Is he sad?

Is he glad to be alone?

Is he alone?

Is he lonely? "

There is so much I want to know.

I asked myself, "Why him?

When so many people pass through my life each day,

why him? "

What attracts me to you?

What makes me want to know more?

I want to know.

Even if my questions are never answered,

There is one thing I want you to know.

I have been blessed by the effect you had on me in that

Moment in Time.

To My Kindred Spirit

by Todd-Michael St. Pierre

We share secrets, we laugh and even cry,

We have so much in common,

Concerns, likes and dislikes.

Ours is a relationship joined by

Tender velvet chains that link our

similar dreams of life and love.

A gentle intuition guides us in our

individual struggles to succeed

at the things we pursue, to stand

out from the crowd.

In you I have found so much of myself,

Including many of the same

Insecurities and philosophies.

Complete inner-peace and happiness,

These are the things I wish for you,

in the present and in the future

because you are my kindred spirit.

You

by Peter Finlayson

When you are sad,

and you feel you can't go on.

Tears well in your eyes

and the pain is so strong.

So far from your friends,

and you're all on your own.

No-one to run to,

So very alone.

When all seems so useless,

and you can't take anymore.

As you put on your coat,

and head for the door.

Remember.......

I was there once,

lost, all alone

You can cry in my ear,

Just pick up the phone.

When you are lonely and feeling so blue

Someone is thinking ...thinking of you.

The Story

by Jordanna Tillinghast

Two separate lives brought together

Our love and friendship shared forever.

The laughs, the love, even some tears

Were planned to be spent all our years.

Then one day things fell apart,

And time and hurt pulled at our heart.

"Together always," were words only said;

And reality was, it was all in our head.

But through it all, we truly shine;

It will be you and me till the end of time.

"I love you always," will now be said

and a great friendship waits ahead.

..to be continued.

The poems of friendship of the family can be very emotional to write. A poem in this way may be about the poet's mother, sister or cousin.

When the poem is written with good feelings, it can describe how the family means to the poet. If you are writing with sad emotions the poem can be describing all the bad things about a member of the family of the person.

Poems of friendship must remain a good style of poetry. Because of that, many people go through a lot of friendships that form of poetry, and friendship verses have continued to be written.

My Friend

My Friend when I think of you.

I think of all that we've been through.

All the times we argue and fight,

I know deep inside that it isn't right.

I, then feel bad and alot of pain.

It feels like I've fallen from the sky like the rain.

I love you dear friend with all of my heart.

But now that you're gone I've fallen apart.

I'm getting better as the days go by.

I wish sometimes this was all a big lie.

I pray to you every night.

It's like you're my fire, a burning light.

My dear friend, I miss you alot.

I still wonder why you were put in that spot.

I know you're in a place much better than here.

Watching and helping me with all of my fear.

Our friendship my dear friend,

we will have to the end.

Friends til the end is what we will be.

Someday we'll be together,

together you and me.

A FRIEND FROM ABOVE...

I prayed for you before we met,

Not knowing who you'd be.

I asked the Lord to send a friend.

One chosen just for me.

I asked that they'd be Godly,

With wisdom of His ways.

A friend to help and guide me

I the troubles of these days.

So often in life, we need someone

To listen while we talk.

Someone who will not condemn or judge,

But encourage us as we walk.

The narrow road we choose to follow

May sometimes make us stumble.

But to have a friend to catch our fall,

Teaches us to be humble.

When I asked the Lord to send a friend,

Though many came and went.

He gave much more than I ever asked,

For you are the friend He sent.
